Sam is a business leader who has dedicated his career to empowering Open-Source technology. He is a versatile Executive and experienced director of for-profit, cooperative, and charity organisations. He has led technical, marketing, and political projects for a range of bodies, and engaged audiences speaking at over 25 international conferences, most recently on Open Source strategy.

He inspired 60 international volunteer teams to advance Open Standards when he organised Document Freedom Day in 2014, garnered global press coverage when he launched LibreOffice Online in 2015 (an EU-based, Open Source Microsoft Office 365 competitor), and more recently expanded his Open Source marketing technology firm to Tirana, Albania, with the opening of a new office in March 2018. The following month he graduated as an Executive Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the European School of Management and Technology in Berlin, where he studied as the Tagesspiegel Entrepreneurial Scholar of 2016-2018.
